Potluck Dinner Party.

We carried on the tradition we began last year of spending a fall evening with friends around the table. This year we hosted a good ole fashioned potluck dinner.

I recycled tin cans by turning them into vases and left the labels on for color. I hand drew place-mats for each guest which also served as place settings, since I included their names on the "plate".

Celebrations at Home blog is a personal favorite of mine and source of great inspiration to me. I used their  "conversation starters" download that they featured on their blog. I wrote some of them out and then wrapped an apple with string placing the conversation starter in it.

I had thought about ordering white daisies or babies breath, but as you know, I'm all about saving some money when I can, so for "flowers" I just trimmed up some bushes which grow wild around our area and that was our filler for our cans.

It was a nice low-key evening spent with friends. We had a fire going in the chiminea to keep our guests warm. Surprisingly enough, the candles down the center of the table gave off a lot of heat as well.

All photography taken by my friend Courtney Burge and plants were from Southland Nursery & Landscaping.
