"Booberry Pie".

It's Halloween after all, but I was still craving a blueberry pie which reminds me more of warm summer days instead of these cool fall ones we're experiencing. I nicknamed our pie "Booberry Pie" in honor of the Halloween season. A cookie cutter ghost cut out took this blueberry pie from July right into October. The blueberry drippings on the edge of the crust add a ghoulish look to our pie.

Blueberry Pie

Top and bottom pie crust (make your own or premade works well too)
4 cups of fresh or frozen blueberries (if using frozen, thaw before baking)
1 cup sugar
Juice of 1 fresh lemon
1-2 tablespoons of flour (which serves as a thickening agent to all the berry juice)

Bake for 45 to 60 minutes at 375 degrees. We always serve it with vanilla ice cream.

  1. What a cute idea! Must try this crust treatment...maybe a Christmas tree cutout this holiday season?
