Chris from Celebrations at Home, had such encouraging words to read about the cowboy party I styled for my son's fourth birthday! Celebrations at Home was the first party blog I ever came across (almost a year ago), and it has been such a huge source of inspiration for me! Thank you Chris, for featuring my party! Cowboy Cookie Corral - Cookie Decorating Contest.

How do you make a child's birthday party fun for the adults that come too? I had a cookie decorating contest for any person over the age of five. Other activities included line dancing on bubble wrap. We had planned activities for the children to make their own horse puppet out of a paper bag, and coloring pages with pictures of a horse and cowboy.

Cowboy Cookie Corral - The Food.

We served a brunch offering a sausage grits casserole that came out of a Junior League cookbook, a vegetarian strata for our guests who don't eat meat, mini corn muffins, fruit on skewers, and peanuts in the shell. Guests ate off of aluminum pie plates that we purchased from The Dollar Tree.

In one corner of our yard, I had placed a few hay bales with props people could use, if they wanted to take pictures.

Cowboy Cookie Corral - The Drink Station.

One of the projects I gave myself for this party was to make a horse out of a saw horse. I ended up getting lucky, when my next door neighbor threw out an old saw horse form too. So my son got two horses for his party. We served bottles of water with a personalized drink wrapper, root beer, and sweet tea that our guests drank out of mason jars. Mister Julie Ann created a play list of cowboy songs that we had playing in the background throughout the party.

What do you give out for thank you favors when the theme of your party is a Cowboy Cookie Corral?!?!! You give cowboy cookies that your guests can take home and make for themselves!

Cowboy Cookie Corral.

Some details from our Cowboy Cookie Corral party include, incorporating the birthday boy's name throughout the party decor, along with his silhouette. Grass in tin cans served as centerpieces for the tables. Drop cloths were used as table cloths, and squares of blue paisley bandana fabric on each table. Each child received their own hat and bandana, a pack of crayons, along with a personalized drinking vessel.

As the mother of the birthday boy, I had to make his sister a dress to go along with the whole party theme! I used two of the bandana's we ordered from Oriental Trading Co. Pink cowboy boots from Target completed her outfit.

Cowboy Cookie Corral - The Cake.

I made the cupcake liners, cupcake toppers, cakes, and cake bunting. The birthday boy's silhouette was incorporated throughout the entire party and featured on the cupcake toppers. Also served were s'more pops, sugar cookies, Rice Krispie treats that were drizzled with blue chocolate, "Bacon & Eggs" (that were made by the birthday boy's godmother), brownie bites, chocolate animal crackers, Almond Joy bits, Whoppers, and Hershey Kisses.

Cowboy Cake.

My friend was throwing her son a cowboy party for his third birthday.  She asked if I would make the cake. Her request was for stars on the cupcakes and a "rope" around Sam's cake. I had so much fun creating these cakes for her!
