Baby Girl Christening - Sweets Table.
For the first time we made cupcake holders out of paper doilies! I loved it! Super easy. we were able to get three cupcake holders out one ten inch doily. We didn't get a good picture of any individual cupcake, but I had iced them as individual rose flowers.
We also made another serving stand out of china teacups, plates, and saucers we had picked up from thrift stores. There's even a sugar bowl in this stand! It's perfect for serving bite sized desserts from.
Friends and family members of the family also contributed dessert items. This is a great way to alleviate some of the stress from the hostess.

The menu was simple. I believe it changed three times in the final week leading up to the actual event. Grilled chicken, a large garden salad, and home-made Artisan bread was served.
Do you purchase generic brand food items? It's more cost effective. And I'm all about being cost effective. One way to get away with generic food items, is to remove the label and add your own. By taking off the generic "Great Value" brand on our Ranch dressing, we created a label that coordinated with the other paper products of our event and tied some lace around it. Not only is it way more pleasing to the eye, it doesn't scream out that you're saving a buck!

We couldn't have asked for better weather. It was warm, but not too sunny. Which meant the guests were not sweltering in the heat. Pink lemonade for our pink themed event, water, and iced tea were served on an antique dresser.
Baby Girl Christening.
Some people have dedications for babies. Some people practice infant baptism. Whatever, your choice, it's a sweet time for the parents and those close to them to celebrate the life God has blessed them with. This past Sunday we did a small luncheon for around 40 people. We kept the color scheme pink and white. And we used lace accents. We pulled out vintage accents from storage. And we even created a few faux milk glass vases by spray painting glass vases white. This would make a great first birthday party or a sweet bridal shower as well.
